What does a calorstat do?

A calorstat is a temperature-sensitive valve that controls coolant circulation. It remains closed when the engine is cold to speed warm-up, then gradually opens as the engine reaches operating temperature to allow full coolant flow through the radiator.

What are symptoms of a failing thermostat?

Signs include engine overheating, temperature gauge reading too high or low, coolant leaks, or the engine running too cold. The calorstat may stick open or closed, preventing proper temperature regulation.

Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?

Vernet is an established manufacturer of cooling system components used as both OEM and quality replacement parts for major automotive brands.

Which Mitsubishi models use the RC0047?

The RC0047 is designed for specific Mitsubishi engine applications. Consult your vehicle's service manual or parts diagram to confirm compatibility with your exact model and year.

How often should a calorstat be replaced?

Thermostats typically last 80,000-100,000 miles but can fail earlier due to coolant contamination or mechanical stress. Replace immediately if symptoms of failure appear.
